About the Supplier:
The small villages of West Bengal in Eastern India are famous for the art of Kantha work. Birch and Yarn source all the products from a manufacturer based in Nano or, a small community development block in Bolpur subdivision of Birbhum.
Our manufacturer employs a team of 100 women artisans under Affunessa Begum whose embroidery products fetch high appraisal in metropolitan cities and the international market. For an efficient safeguard of the art form and the artisans, workshops are regularly conducted by Visva Bharati University, Khadi Gram Udyog and various non-governmental organisations on emerging design and marketing techniques. Women form the backbone of entrepreneurial spirit in this artform.
